If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, why not join the Canadian Diabetes Association volunteer team as a Public Education Facilitator!

The Public Education Facilitator raises awareness of the Canadian Diabetes Association and empowers people affected by, living with or at risk for diabetes in their self-management. This happens through the facilitation of small group workshops, presentations and community displays.

If you demonstrate the following attributes and skills, we want to speak with you about this new and exciting volunteer role with the Canadian Diabetes Association:

Demonstrated group facilitation skills

Public speaking skills

Ability to travel within Prince Edward Island and transport equipment and supplies (i.e. handouts, LCD projector, laptop etc.)

Experience using a laptop and/ or LCD projector with PowerPoint presentations

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Reliable and ability to follow through with commitments

Time commitment is flexible, but we do ask for a 1 year commitment with a minimum of 2 workshops per year (1-2 hours per workshop).
