Canadian Diabetes Association
Request for Volunteers
January 12, 2013

Good afternoon,
When trying to think of ways to recruit more volunteers for the Canadian Diabetes Association PEI Region, I stumbled upon the PEI Retired Teachers’ Association website and quarterly newsletter. I am wondering if you ever include small advertisements/write ups in your newsletters for other organizations – and also if you would be willing to include one in your next newsletter. It would be a request for volunteers – very short, just a couple sentences, and then have my contact information if someone is interested in volunteering. The Canadian Diabetes Association PEI Region requires many volunteers for various events, presentations and community outreach programs throughout the year. We would be more than lucky to have some retired teachers as volunteers for us – with their many years of knowledge, comfort with interacting with people and public speaking experience.

Some things for which we require volunteers include the following:
• Learning Series Presenter
• Special Events Crew
• Administrative Whiz
• Community Exhibitor

There is no time commitment, no required number of hours a month – just throughout the year we have different events and/or projects that we rely on the help of our volunteers.

I appreciate your time in reading my e-mail and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

Jessica Taylor
